News! 🎉
Over 1,000 parents and teachers have signed children up on the waiting list for LESA, a new Icelandic reading game designed to boost children's reading comprehension and interest with a playful approach. Let's make learning as fun as a game!
LESA, the new Icelandic reading game developed by Revera, has sparked unexpectedly high interest from the very beginning. In just two months, over 1,000 people have signed up for the waiting list, including parents and teachers eager to try the app with their children.
LESA is based on a gamified approach to reading education, combining quality Icelandic content, personalized training, and hopefully the world's most delightful reading experience. The goal is to enhance reading comprehension and build a positive relationship between children and reading – through the LESA universe they will want to return to again and again.
Strong Need for New Solutions in Reading Education
Initial presentations of LESA reveal that parents are looking for solutions that work both at home and in school. Teachers have also shown interest in using the app as a supplement to daily reading activities, as the app will have the functionality to adapt to each child's ability (initially manually) and, of course, much better statistics that will help further enhance reading.
"We have been working for a long time to create a game that truly supports reading. These initial responses confirm that the need is there and that we are on the right track," says Birgir Hrafn Birgisson, founder of Revera and the mastermind behind LESA.
First Version Expected Fall 2026
In the coming months, the LESA development team will complete the game's foundation, fine-tune the game flow, and finalize the first adventure worlds and characters. The first version of the app will then be introduced to those registered on the waiting list before it is released to the general public.
Those who want to ensure access to the initial trials can sign up on the LESA website's waiting list. Interested individuals will receive updates on the project's progress and opportunities to participate in the first user tests.
